What does Botfather actually do?
Botfather runs your weekly football game admin inside WhatsApp: creates games, tracks who is in/out/reserve, sends reminders, helps with team assignment, and supports score + POTM flow.

Is this only for 5-a-side?
No. You can set minimum and maximum player counts, so it works for different formats and squad sizes.
How much does it cost?
Botfather is currently free. We plan to add a donate page so groups who find it useful can support ongoing development.
Do players need to install another app?
Nope. Everything happens in your existing WhatsApp group chat.
Who can change group settings?
Only group admins can run sensitive actions like reset/cancel and manage admin-level settings in the dashboard.
What data do you store?
We store the minimum data needed to run your games: group details, player identifiers/nicknames, attendance status, game setup, and basic game history.
Do you read private messages?
Only where needed for bot functionality, like OTP login verification or POTM voting replies. Botfather is designed around group game management, not snooping.
Is my data sold or shared?
No. Data is used to run Botfather features for your group.
What happens if I remove Botfather from the group?
The bot stops managing the group and scheduling games there. You can always re-invite it later.
The invite link did not work. What should I do?
Check that the link is valid and not revoked, and make sure it is from the target group settings. If needed, ask a group admin to generate a fresh link.
